Prepared, not rushed

Preventive care, matched to your mouth

Which one sounds like you?

Most patients need routine cleanings and exams. Some need more frequent periodontal maintenance. Some need a closer look because something has changed. We set the cadence based on your mouth, not a generic script.

I am due for a cleaning

Six-month cleaning visits with the hygienists, plus a brief check-in with Dr. D'Addio so anything new gets caught early.

I want to restore function

Questions patients often ask

Practical answers, plainly written.

How often should I see the dentist?
Most adults and children benefit from a dental cleaning and check-up every six months, the standard cadence recommended by the American Dental Association. Some patients need to come more often: people with active gum disease, complex restorations, certain medical conditions, or a history of cavities often do best at a three- or four-month cadence. Some patients with very low decay risk and excellent home care can safely stretch to nine months. The right answer is specific to your mouth. At Dunning Family Dental, Dr. D'Addio and your hygienist will set the right cadence with you after your first cleaning.
Is preventive care right for me?
Yes. Every adult and child benefits from regular cleanings and check-ups, even with no symptoms. Prevention is the cheapest, lowest-stress part of dentistry.
How many visits does it usually take?
A standard preventive cycle is twice a year. Some patients with periodontal history come more often. We will set the right cadence with you after the first visit.
Will you submit to my insurance?
Yes, as a courtesy. The reimbursement check goes directly to you. Full billing detail and which plans we can or cannot bill are on the insurance and payment page.
Do you accept CareCredit?
Yes. CareCredit is accepted for treatment that benefits from spreading the cost across months.
